About the School
The Fall
School on Robust Network Design and Delay Management is a
training course organized by the
ARRIVAL (Algorithms
for Robust and on-line
Railway optimization:
Improving the Validity and reliAbility of
Large-scale systems, FP6-021235-2)
project. The purpose of the School is to train PhD students, young
researchers and others who are interested in railway planning, with
the aim of introducing them to research areas related to robust and
on-line optimization of railway and large-scale systems. This year
the School will address two subjects that, although are not usually
presented together, are strongly related. A good design makes the
management of delays easier since in general, delay management
depends on the network design and line planning. Moreover, studying
delay management in depth will provide pointers on how robust
railway networks should be designed and how to upgrade the robustness
of existent networks.
After the
School, on Friday the 16th November
ATMOS 2007 will
be held.
IMPORTANT:"Due to capacity constraints
in our classroom and to have a good quality in the School, the
number of attendants is bounded by 45 (35 ARRIVAL members + 10 non
ARRIVAL members)."
The acceptance will be strictly in order of payment. (First paying
